권력의 중심에는 언제나 이름 없는 사람들이 있다. 그들은 대통령의 일정을 관리하고 보고서를 검토하며, 때로는 언론 앞에 나서지 않는다. 그 익명성은 시스템이 낳은 필연이지만, 국민의 눈에는 신비와 의혹으로 비친다. 최근 온라인에서 번지는 ‘김현지=김설송설’은 바로 그 공백이 만들어낸 상징적 현상이다.

김현지는 대통령실의 비서관으로, 공적 인물임에도 출생지나 학력이 명확히 알려져 있지 않다. 김설송은 김정일의 딸로 추정되지만, 북한 내부에서도 공식적인 공개가 거의 없다. 두 사람 모두 ‘정보의 사각지대’에 놓인 인물이라는 점이, 이 설이 번지는 가장 큰 이유다.

At the center of power, there are always people without names.
They manage the president’s schedule, review reports, and yet rarely appear before the press.
Their anonymity is an inevitable byproduct of the system—but to the public eye, it often appears as mystery and intrigue.
The recent online theory that “Kim Hyun-ji is Kim Sol-song” has emerged precisely from that vacuum of information.

Kim Hyun-ji, a secretary within the presidential office, is a public official whose birthplace and educational background remain unclear.
Kim Sol-song, presumed to be the daughter of Kim Jong-il, is likewise almost never publicly mentioned even inside North Korea.
Both figures exist in the “blind spots of information,” and this parallel is the main reason the speculation has spread.

1. Almost nothing is known about either of them.
   Kim Sol-song is believed to have been born in 1974, while Kim Hyun-ji’s birth year is unknown—though Wikipedia also lists 1974, indicating they share the same year of birth.

2. Their family and educational backgrounds show intriguing contrasts.
   Kim Sol-song, daughter of Kim Jong-il and Kim Young-sook, is regarded as Kim Jong-un’s half-sister.
   She reportedly graduated from Kim Il-sung University and studied in France.
   By contrast, Kim Hyun-ji’s academic record is unclear.
   Some unverified claims suggest she graduated from Sangmyung University, but no confirmed data exist.

3. Their roles and behavioral patterns appear strikingly similar.
   In North Korea, Kim Sol-song has been described as Kim Yo-jong’s mentor.
   According to U.S. defense research group CNA, she is believed to stand “at the apex of the organization controlling information flows within the North Korean regime.”
   Reports also suggest that Kim Sol-song managed Kim Jong-un’s schedule, served as his secretary, and reviewed official reports.
   Likewise, Kim Hyun-ji has served as aide and secretary to Lee Jae-myung since 1998, managing his schedule and reviewing his documents—remarkably similar behavioral patterns.

4. From these parallels, one could infer the possibility of identity overlap.
   It is conceivable, some argue, that Kim Sol-song and Kim Hyun-ji could be the same person, with detailed information potentially held by Chinese and U.S. intelligence agencies.

In conclusion, Lee Jae-myung may find it difficult to be free from Chinese and American influence if his close aide Kim Hyun-ji is indeed linked to Kim Sol-song.
