With the People Power Party (PPP) fielding Oh Se-hoon and the Democratic Party (DP) putting forward Jung Won-oh, citizens are left with a bitter realization: they aren't voting for the best, but desperately trying to avoid the absolute worst.

1. Oh Se-hoon: An "Opportunist" Fueled by a Lack of Alternatives

On the conservative side, Oh Se-hoon remains a figure shrouded in skepticism. Even within his own camp, he is frequently labeled an opportunist, a politician who shifts his sails based on the prevailing political winds rather than firm conviction. His candidacy feels less like a confident choice by the PPP and more like a result of "alternative-less incumbency." Relying solely on the advantage of being the sitting mayor, his campaign lacks a fresh mandate, reflecting a party that has failed to cultivate new leadership and is simply playing it safe.
