대한민국의 주권과 국민의 안전이 정면으로 도전받았다. 지난 4일, 호르무즈 해협을 지나던 우리 국적선 ‘HMM 나무호’가 비행체에 의해 피격당하는 초유의 사태가 발생했다. 외신은 물론 공격 당사자인 이란 이슬람혁명수비대(IRGC)조차 자신들의 소행임을 암시하는 보도를 내놓았고, 우방국인 미국은 이미 이란을 공격 주체로 명시했다. 그러나 유독 이재명 정부만은 '미상 비행체'라는 모호한 단어 뒤에 숨어 입을 굳게 닫고 있다.

1. 명백한 피격 앞에서도 ‘침묵’하는 비겁한 정부

3. 동맹은 외면하고 ‘고립’을 자초하는 자해 외교

트럼프 행정부는 호르무즈 해협의 항행 자유를 위해 한국의 적극적인 역할을 주문하고 있다. 그러나 이재명 정부는 동맹의 요청에는 귀를 닫고, 우리 선박을 공격한 세력에게는 항의 한마디 제대로 못 하는 무능함을 보이고 있다.

혈맹인 미국과는 거리를 두면서 우리 국민에게 총질을 한 국가의 눈치를 보는 것이 이 정부가 말하는 '실용 외교'인가? 이는 실용이 아니라 '고립'이며, 국익이 아니라 '국치(國恥)'다. 자유민주주의 진영의 가치를 공유하지 않는 세력과 손을 잡는 순간, 대한민국은 국제사회에서 신뢰를 잃고 안보의 벼랑 끝으로 내몰리게 될 것이다.

결론: 정부는 더 이상 국민의 인내심을 시험하지 마라

정부는 지금 당장 공격 주체가 이란임을 당당히 밝히고 강력한 규탄과 재발 방지 대책을 요구해야 한다. 국가의 위신이 땅에 떨어지고 국민의 생명이 위협받는 상황에서조차 '이념적 편향성'에 매몰되어 진실을 호도한다면, 이재명 정부는 역사와 국민 앞에 결코 씻을 수 없는 죄를 짓는 것이다.

자유민주 대한민국의 대통령이라면, 가해자의 편이 아니라 우리 국민과 동맹의 편에 서야 한다. 정부는 더 이상 비겁한 침묵으로 국민을 통탄하게 하지 마라.

South Korea’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens have come under direct assault. On May 4th, the South Korean-flagged vessel, 'HMM Namu,' was attacked by a flying object while traversing the Strait of Hormuz. Not only have international media outlets pointed to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as the perpetrator, but the IRGC itself has released reports implying their involvement. Furthermore, our ally, the United States, has already explicitly identified Iran as the attacker. Yet, the Lee Jae-myung administration alone hides behind the vague term "unidentified flying object," remaining tight-lipped and indecisive.

1. A Cowardly Silence in the Face of a Blatant Attack

The government admits that the investigation revealed a massive hole in the hull and that CCTV footage captured a flying object. However, they continue to repeat the hollow phrase, "We will not jump to conclusions" regarding the identity of the culprit.

This is a farcical situation: the criminal is shouting "I did it" from their own backyard, while the victim closes their eyes and claims, "We are still investigating who hit us." The diplomatic trajectory of this administration has shifted from concerning to terrifying. Rather than strengthening the traditional ROK-US-Japan security alliance, it has maintained a friendly stance toward the "authoritarian bloc"—North Korea, China, Russia, and their associate, Iran. If the refusal to identify the attacker is an attempt to stay in their good graces and position South Korea as a member of the 'Axis of Evil,' it is a blatant betrayal of the liberal democratic Republic of Korea.

3. Self-Inflicted Isolation and the Erosion of Alliances

The Trump administration has been calling for South Korea to play an active role in ensuring the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Instead, the Lee Jae-myung government turns a deaf ear to its ally while failing to utter a single word of protest against the forces that fired upon our own citizens.

Is distancing ourselves from our blood ally, the U.S., while catering to a nation that attacked our ship what this government calls "pragmatic diplomacy"? This is not pragmatism; it is isolation. It is not the national interest; it is a national disgrace. The moment we join hands with forces that do not share the values of the liberal democratic world, South Korea will lose international trust and be pushed to the precipice of a security crisis.

Conclusion: Stop Testing the Public’s Patience

The government must immediately and boldly identify Iran as the perpetrator, demand a formal apology, and implement measures to prevent recurrence. If the administration continues to distort the truth and remain paralyzed by "ideological bias" even when national prestige is dragged through the mud and lives are at stake, it commits an unpardonable sin against history and the people.
